Senior Copywriter and Associate Creative Director

GET TO KNOW ME

My experience and what I do:

Hi, I’m Manjari. I am a multidisciplinary writer, creative lead, and content creator with 8 years of agency and brand experience. I’ve worked on everything where words exist; bold campaign work, speeches, scripts, blogs and articles, social media everything and anything—basically every aspect of brand storytelling and advertising there is. But my real superpower lies in my 6th sense for understanding what resonates with audiences, and of course—how to communicate with them.

I have worked on everything from ideating/concepting, executing, rebranding, and taking existing work further—basically, I have touched on countless projects and briefs that are never one and the same. The only thing any of my projects have in common is that I will be giving one thousand percent to providing my clients with a voice, personality, and a purpose to engage and grow their brands.

My most recent work can be found across the Marshalls’s social channels, where I have put my all into creating the most culturally relevant and exciting content that often includes prop-styling and shooting within my own home (and using my own pets) to create organic content that resonates with the Marshalls community. This means I bring a discerning eye to elevate the brand with products including fashion, beauty, and home décor that induce trip-driving visits to stores. Did I mention that I’m extremely fluent in social media and with Gen Z?

Some other clients that I have worked with: Moderna, NÜTRL (an Anhauser-Busch company) Amazon Home/Amazon Pets, Butterfinger, Sephora, Clairol, Daily Harvest, Dermstore, DIFF Eyewear, Fashion Institute of Technology, Flow Hydration, fresh Beauty, USA Today, HALO Sleep, Kiehl’s, Moda Operandi, Pinterest, Raven Health, Saks Fifth Avenue, Spotify, Tic Tac, Torrid Fashion, Turks & Caicos Board of Tourism, UGG, Verizon, Walmart, Year of Ours, and many many more.

I have also written long-form such as blogs for various brands/agencies and was an ongoing contributor to Women’s World Magazine (click to read samples if you’d like).

I honestly and sincerely love what I do. My goal is to just keep creating.

How I got to this place in life:

Some people just know from day one what they want to do, and that's what it was for me. But that doesn’t mean I necessarily knew how to get there right away.

I grew up on a boat as a child. Writing became a way to create a dialog in an often inspiring, yet incredibly isolating setting during our times at sea. As I got older and eventually moved to dry land, I continued to write as an outlet but I was never sure how to pursue this hobby as a career. By not doing so, I struggled to succeed in jobs where I didn’t belong.

In my previous life as a project manager, I  began to contribute to our company blog and began to write marketing materials for our website and tradeshows. I enjoyed working on these special projects so much more than my day-to-day, and I realized that this was actually just copywriting. When our office was shuttered, I took it as a sign to knock on every door and say yes to every opportunity in order to build my experience to where I am today. This is why my experience and portfolio are so diverse—I just love the opportunity and challenge.

Education:

I have a BA in Communications from SFSU, a Certificate in Copyediting, Proofreading, and Fact-Checking from NYU, and have also completed an Advanced Writing for Marketing: Professional Copywriting and Content Strategy course at UCLA.

Stuff that has nothing to do with my career:

I’m obsessed with home décor, the beach, all the feelings of summer and warm weather, sparkly things, understanding emotions, getting lost in nostalgia, human connection, food & bev, the universe, our planetary evolution, holistic health, anything 90s, memes, interior design, animal rescue, animals in general, nails, and fashion.

I’m based in New York City and have many West Coast clients, but I’ll love working with you no matter where you are.
